A SUCCESSFUL 125TH CELEBRATION

In spite of September 16, 2014 being a very warm day for an outdoor noon event, the unveiling of the Fresno High Alumni Association’s bronze plaque went off without fail. About 2,300 students, a number of dignitaries and school administration were there to lend a hand in celebrating this very special recognition. Student Ofa Kuma sang the National Anthem after the posting of colors by JROTC.

Kopi Sotiropulos MC’d the event and introduced Principal Dr. John Forbes who opened up the ceremony by welcoming the students who stood in Warrior Park for the event. Supervisor of the Fresno Unified School District Michael Hanson spoke about the importance the school was to the city and how past alumni have contributed to FHS and the city of Fresno. Kopi introduced Mayor Ashley Swearengin who gave a city proclamation to Board of Education member, Carol Mills. Assemblyman Henry T. Perea gave the state proclamation to Board of Education member, Valarie Davis. Happy birthday ended the program along with the Alma Mater. Kopi kept the students engaged with “Go Warriors” shout-outs during the program.
